Chelsea Holds Emergency Meeting With Graham Potter

Chelsea’s co-owners, Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, have held an emergency meeting with manager Graham Potter amidst the team’s poor performance in the Premier League, according to a report by The Evening Standard.

Potter took over as manager in September, replacing Thomas Tuchel. However, the former Brighton boss has been under immense pressure recently, as Chelsea has been struggling in all competitions despite spending over £600m on new players since last summer. The team has only recorded one win in their last ten matches and suffered a shocking 1-0 loss to the 20th-placed Southampton in their last game.

Chelsea is currently 10th in the Premier League table, sitting 11 points behind the top four, following early exits from both the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. While they are still in the Champions League, they lost their first-leg tie to Borussia Dortmund in the last 16.

In light of these developments, Boehly and Eghbali, who have repeatedly expressed their support for Potter, called for an emergency meeting on Tuesday. The co-owners were eager to understand Potter’s plan for turning Chelsea’s fortunes around. However, it is understood that the Englishman’s job is safe, at least for now.

The poor form of Chelsea, which started under Thomas Tuchel’s reign, has led to speculation about the future of several players and staff at the club, including Graham Potter. Chelsea’s recent run of poor form and poor results has also raised questions about their recruitment strategy and team selection.

However, Potter’s meeting with the co-owners suggests that he is still in the club’s plans for the future.
