Chelsea face another Reece James problem

One week, another crisis it will seem for West-London side, Chelsea as Reece James has been charged by the Football Association following the premier league clash versus Aston Villa last weekend.

The premier league tie which saw Reece James absented from the match squad due to an injury, saw the England international react to the refereeing decision that saw Chelsea player, Malo Gusto red carded for a poor tackle on Lucas Digne.

The Chelsea captain according to the FA is being charged for “improper, insulting or abusive” behavior towards a match official in the defeat at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues’ Right-back and captain has until Friday, September 29 to respond to the charges by the FA before disciplinary actions will be implemented.

Recently, Liverpool captain, Virgil van Dijk faced similar charges after being sent off in the premier league match versus Newcastle United, with the FA charging the Dutchman for abusive behavior towards the referee for the decision that saw his team reduced to 10-men in the first half.

Virgil van Dijk was fined, with the player having to seat back for an extra game on suspension.

It is however not clear what disciplinary action the FA may place on the Chelsea captain if found guilty as charged.
