Chelsea Close to Signing Target

The new season hasn’t been going down well for West London club, Chelsea under the new ownership of Todd Boehly but unlike counterparts, Liverpool, the Stamford Bridge side are setting things behind the stage for the potential return of club football.

The London side has busied itself with the hiring of club executives during the extended break on club football and now it has set out transfer targets ahead of the winter and summer transfer windows for next year.

Chelsea and Vasco de Gama are nearing an agreement on a $13 million transfer for midfielder Andrey Santos.

Le10 Sport claims that Chelsea has moved rapidly to complete a deal to capture Santos in the January transfer window, barring a last-minute change of heart from the 18-year-old.

According to the report, Barcelona and Newcastle United have also been keeping an eye on the 18-year-old Santos, who has been under observation by Paris Saint-Germain for a number of months.

The source claims that Santos “was assessed more aligned with Chelsea’s plan” than “was judged more aligned with PSG’s concept.”

With Vasco de Gama earlier this year, Santos made his debut for the first squad.

At the center of their midfield, he has rapidly established himself as a regular player.
