Chelsea behind the scenes drama leaked in deleted Tweet

Chelsea Football Club is in the midst of a major shakeup as head coach Mauricio Pochettino seeks to trim his squad following a summer exodus of senior players.

The club allowed 14 senior players to leave during the summer transfer window, and more departures are expected in the upcoming January transfer window.

Notable departures from Stamford Bridge over the summer included stars like Kai Havertz, N’Golo Kante, Mason Mount, and Mateo Kovacic as the club sought to balance its finances following an extensive spending spree.

Chelsea’s transfer spending has now exceeded €1 billion in just three windows since the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital in May 2022.

Despite the considerable investment, Chelsea currently finds itself in an unexpected 14th place in the Premier League standings, adding pressure to Pochettino’s managerial role.

This challenge has been further compounded by an ongoing injury crisis at the club, with 11 senior players currently sidelined.

Ed Hodge, personal trainer to Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah, publicly criticized the current situation in a now-deleted Twitter post.

Hodge’s post contained screenshots of direct messages attributed to him, where he expressed concerns about the injuries plaguing the squad.

According to Hodge, many injuries result from players repeatedly loading their muscles without simultaneously elongating them, leading to vulnerability in challenges or sudden movements.

He also noted that few players engage in activities like reformer Pilates or terrain work, which could strengthen knee ligaments.

Hodge’s outspoken comments have reportedly resulted in him being banned from Chelsea. This development adds to the complications faced by Chalobah, 24, who has yet to make an appearance for Chelsea this season.

Chalobah was linked with moves to Bayern Munich and Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano suggests that Chalobah will have an opportunity to leave Chelsea in the upcoming January transfer window.

Pochettino denied any claims that the English center-back was being “frozen out” after a move was rejected on Deadline Day, but the prevailing sentiment indicates that Chalobah may seek a new opportunity elsewhere.
