Casemiro Picks Football Idols

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has identified his childhood football idols.

The Brazilian midfielder, who was playing up in Sao Paulo, stated that Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes, two former Manchester United players, were his idols.

The 30-year-old defensive midfielder also professed his affection for famous Ronaldinho, Zinedine Zidane, and Ronaldo Fenomeno, who were all former Real Madrid players.

When questioned about his football heroes by the Manchester United official media, Casemiro responded as follows:

“Honestly, I used to love watching Zidane. I loved watching Scholes too, and talking of United, Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, what an incredible player! These are all players who were winners.

“Ronaldo Fenomeno, Ronaldinho Gaucho… And talking of players in my position, Gilberto Silva, Mauro Silva, Makelele…”
