you cannot take everyone with you to the next level

You were not sent to everybody. So often we tend to think that just because someone has been in our lives for years that we are entitled to take them with us to each proceeding level of our lives. At some point in your life, you must realize that everyone cannot go with you to the next level and here’s why:

Some People Are Seasonal

People come and people go. Do not get caught up trying to force relationships beyond its season. If the season has ended, let go of the relationship. You cannot depend on them or count on them because they are only there to give you shade. They come into your life but just for a little while so be sure to never mix seasonal people with your lifetime expectations. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or wind blows in your life they are gone. You can’t be angry at them, it’s just who they are.

Some People Will Only Remember You From Your Past

Twenty children, they say, cannot play for twenty years. There are those friends who only want to talk about the past starting their conversations with “remember when…” While it might be interesting to reminisce and talk about memories, you cannot afford to take these set of persons with you on your way to the top. They can only identify with the person you were some ten years back. On your way to destiny you cannot afford to spend time looking in the rearview mirror. Those who constantly remind you of your past cannot propel you to your future.

Some People Can’t Handle Where You are Going

Not everyone can handle where you are going in life and once you settle that within yourself you will stop beating yourself hard over those people who walked away. You are embarking on life’s journey, while some may cheer you on while you run, some simply cannot handle the pace at which you run, they would only slow you down. A wise person said: you are going to lose some people on the way, but remember not everyone is intended to go with you.
