Controversial Afrofusion artist, Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has informed fans about ‘Twice as Tall’, his first album for 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The award-winning singer disclosed the release date on Tuesday during a question and answer session with his numerous followers on Twitter.

A fan had asked him how he felt after losing out in his category to Angelique Kidjo, a Beninese singer-songwriter, at the 2020 Grammys.

Responding, the ‘African Giant’ crooner said the development left him “sick”. He added that the loss inspired him after gleaning from Kidjo, whom he described as his “musical mother.”

This, he said, informed his choice of ‘Twice as Tall’ as the title for his upcoming project slated for July.

“Sick. Totally sick. But my musical Mother@angeliquekidjo told me everything I needed to understand about the Grammys. So now, I’m ‘Twice as Tall’ (that’s the name of my next Album by the way dropping in July by the grace of the most High).”

Burna Boy also reacted to a bevy of other issues about his personal life as well as music career, including rumours that he stole songs of Fela Kuti, Afrobeat legend.

The music star pointed out that such rumours were borne out of alleged hatred for him by some people.

“The fools that say this shit don’t even really know Fela songs. Fela went through much more hate from you fuckers than I currently do and all he did was speak the truth even more than I do. You are just pained that I’m King and I’m Flawless with the vibes. Unstoppable,” he wrote.
