Bukayo Saka wins Premier League March awards

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been named the Premier League EA Sports Player of the Month for March, adding to his growing list of accolades. The announcement was made on Friday, April 1, following a month of impressive performances from the young forward.

Bukayo Saka has been a key player for Arsenal this season, with 22 goal contributions in 28 league appearances. In March, he started the month with a goal and assist in Arsenal’s 4-0 victory over Everton, and ended it with three goal involvements in Sunday’s win over Crystal Palace. He scored twice in the game, becoming the first player to reach double figures for goals and assists in the division this season.

In recognition of his exceptional form, Arsenal celebrated Saka’s award on their official website, stating, “It is our forward’s first divisional success of his career, as he becomes the 22nd different player to win the prize in our colours – the most of any other club in the league’s history.”

Saka’s outstanding performances saw him come out on top of the voting, beating teammate Leandro Trossard, who laid on five assists during the month, as well as Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alexis Mac Allister, and Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings.

This is the second time this season that the award has been given to an Arsenal player, with captain Martin Odegaard receiving the November/December award.

The news of Saka’s latest award has been well-received by football fans around the world. Former Arsenal captain Tony Adams even described Saka as the best player in world football, aside from World Cup winner Lionel Messi.

Saka’s excellent form will be crucial for Arsenal as they push for a top-six finish in the Premier League and aim to win the Europa League.
