Buhari’s top ally is dead

President Muhammadu Buhari’s top ally is dead.

Alhaji Ahmed Joda, an elder statesman, who headed President Muhammadu Buhari’s transition committee in 2015 is dead.

He was 91.

He died after a protracted illness.

Born in February 1930, Ahmed Joda was a Nigerian administrator who rose through the administrative cadre of the Northern regional government and then the federal civil service to retire as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industries.

During the administration of the youthful Yakubu Gowon, he was considered to be among a group known as super Permanent Secretaries.
