Buhari’s campaign director in Zamfara defects to PDP alongside 3,804 others

Thursday witnessed the mass defection of over 3,804 card-carrying members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara including a former deputy governor, Alhaji Mutari Anka, former speaker of the state House of Assembly, Bature Sambo, a former commissioner, Alhaji Gurbin Bore, to the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

Speaking at the “defection” ceremony held at the Gusau Government House, Zamfara Bature Sambo who was the campaign coordinator of President Buhari in Zamfara State hinged his defection to PDP on Governor Bello Matawalle’s performance which includes ending banditry in less than two weeks of his tenure. He further held that the former Governor of the state Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari was unable to do same.

Receiving the APC defectors, Governor Matawalle of the PDP stated that everyone will be treated equally and also warned supporters of the past administration to desist from creating unnecessary tension in the state or face the full wrath of the law.
