Buhari shuts down Aso Rock for Yusuf Buhari’s wedding

This Friday, Aso Rock will literally shut down as President Muhammadu Buhari will leave Abuja for Kano to attend the wedding of his only son, Yusuf.

Yusuf Buhari will take as his beloved wife the beautiful Kano princess, Zahra Nasir Bayero at a ceremony billed for 1pm on Friday.

Chairman, organising committee for the wedding, Shehu Ahmed, said President Buhari is expected at the event, which will hold after the Friday prayer.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to grace the wedding Fatiha of his son and the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Bichi town on Friday”, Ahmed said.

The wedding coincides with the coronation of the bride’s father as Emir of Bichi.

“A special prayer would be conducted at the Central Mosque, Bichi, by 4:30 pm”, Ahmed said.

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje will also present a staff of office to the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, on Saturday.

“We have two historic events on Friday and Saturday in Bichi — the wedding Fatiha of Buhari’s son with the daughter of Emir of Bichi and the coronation of the emir.

“Activities marking the coronation of the Emir include a coronation lecture to be held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, on Thursday; while the ceremony for the presentation of the staff of office would be held at the Bichi stadium on Saturday.

“Adequate arrangements had also been put in place by the various subcommittees to ensure the success of the two events.”
