President Muhammadu Buhari has reassured Nigerians that the ongoing crisis caused by the scarcity of new naira notes will be resolved in the next seven days.

The president acknowledged the impact of the cash shortages on local businesses and ordinary citizens and promised to work with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Minting Company to find a solution.

During a meeting with the governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at the Ask Rock villa, President Buhari stated that the remaining seven days of the 10-day extension will be used to tackle the encumbrances that have hindered the successful implementation of the currency redesign policy.

He assured the public that a decision will be reached by the end of the extension period.

This development comes as a relief to the Nigerian public, who have been facing difficulties in obtaining new naira notes and conducting daily transactions.
