Buhari making progress on insecurity – APC governors
The Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) has claimed that Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is committed to tackling insecurity in the country.
The Chairman and Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu gave assurance in a statement on the birthday of Plateau Governor, Simon Lalong.
Bagudu hailed the governor for his leadership, vision and commitment towards a united prosperous Nigeria.
“Along with the people of Plateau, the people of Northern Nigeria and other well meaning Nigerians, we celebrate this special occasion with you and your family”, he wrote.
The APC Governors acknowledged Lalong’s contributions to the PGF through his insightful and resolute inputs.
Bagudu added that the celebrant’s developmental initiatives being implemented by his government have made him a shining light of politics.
Meanwhile, Buhari has urged leaders of ethnic and religious groups to play their roles by controlling their followers.
Buhari, in reaction to the reprisals in Benue and Anambra, cautioned Nigerians against taking the law into their hands in the name of revenge.
In many instances, the rising incidents of violent attacks are symptoms of weak, exclusionary, or exploitative governance systems in northwest Nigeria. Compounding factors include weak institutional capacity within the police; extreme inequality, poverty, unemployment; and citizens’ alienation from the government.
