Brymo releases Oṣó album, says ‘patience and goodluck like hair and skin’

Talented Nigerian songwriter and singer, Olawale Ashimi, best know as Brymo, says “Goodluck and Patience” are as close as the hair and skin.

Brymo, who released his sixth album on Tuesday, preached patience as a virtue necessary for success. He says the drug for sorrow is a good attitude.

In the same album, the non-conforming music star hails Nobel laureate Wole (O)Ṣoyinka in his special Olumo track for Ake festival.

He also praised former president Olusegun Obasanjo as ebora Owu (the daemon of Owu kingdom), while extending pleasantries to the Alake of Egbaland.

The album, which comes about two years after his Klitoris album from May 2016, is said to be “dedicated to keeping his art sacred”.

It is said to be “his strongest work till date – an atmospheric, introspective set that’s built on masterful songwriting, philosophy and rhythm”.

In an earlier interview with the press, Brymo had said he gets better with every song.

“And every single time I grab a pen to write a song, I’m trying to write a song that’s better than the song I wrote before. So that ideology sort of creates a behavioral pattern for me that I must constantly adhere to,” he had said.

Oṣó is the Yoruba word for wizard, depicting Brymo as the wizard of his own art.
