British Council to empower young Nigerians with skills

British Council has announced that it is committed to helping Nigerian youths develop their skills, TOPNAIJA.NG reports.

The Director of Programmes of the council, Ojoma Ochai, who spoke in Owerri, said the council had been in Nigeria for 75 years.

Ochai said the council’s interest was to help young people develop their skills and earn a good living.

She said, “The British Council’s interest in the creative industries in Nigeria is about helping young people to develop the skills and the network to create the connections to the market that can allow them earn a living from their talents.

“So, whether people are working in music, film, fashion or performing arts or visual arts or any of the creative disciplines, we believe that one of the biggest things we can do to help is to build their capacity.”
