British commentator comes up with strange theory on Guardiola

After Manchester City’s goalless draw with Arsenal, Pep Guardiola gets himself into the theory books following his post-match interaction with Jack Grealish which British journalist and sports commentator Richard Keys picked up on.

Despite City’s dominance in possession, they struggled to break through Arsenal’s resilient defense, registering only one shot on target at the Etihad Stadium.

The stalemate was more beneficial for league leaders Liverpool, who extended their lead by two points over both Arsenal and Manchester City.

Following the final whistle, Guardiola engaged in a discussion with Grealish on the pitch, although the exact nature of their conversation was not captured by cameras.

Guardiola gestured towards the City winger before patting him on the head, prompting Keys to criticize the public display, urging such matters to be handled in the dressing room.

Keys remarked,

“Leave it for the dressing room! It’s all for the cameras, isn’t it? It’s so tiresome. Go down the tunnel, it shouldn’t even be on the pitch. Now he’s got to go and tell everyone else what they did wrong, of course.”

Guardiola also intervened in a potential altercation between Gabriel Magalhaes and Erling Haaland, who had a contentious battle during the match. Additionally, the manager provided tactical advice to Jeremy Doku on the pitch.

This isn’t the first time Guardiola has been seen offering guidance during or after matches. In a previous instance, during City’s Premier League opener against Burnley, Guardiola engaged in a tactical discussion with Erling Haaland at halftime.

Guardiola later explained, “He wants all the time, ball to him, ball to him. He wants the ball in behind. Erling wanted the ball and Bernardo [Silva] was right not to give it to him. He scored two goals. I think he’s happy.”
