Brendan Rodgers Gives Update On Wilfred Ndidi

Super Eagles defensive midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi hasn’t had the luck recently when it comes to availability on pitch for both club and country as he has had to battle with injuries that have resulted in lengthy lay offs.

The Nigeria International has had to sit out important fixtures as a result that has seen his teams miss his presence in the field of play.

Ahead of the fixture against Premier League title favorites, Manchester City, Leicester City manager, Brendan Rodgers has provided an update on Wilfred Ndidi.

The Leicester City boss reveals Wilfred Ndidi will be available for the Premier League clash against Manchester City on Saturday after been sidelined since his relapse from a hamstring injury in the Foxes 4-0 win against Nottingham Forest on the 3rd of October.

Due to the setback, the midfielder has missed Leicester City’s last four contests.

The Nigerian has resumed full training with his teammates, according to Rodgers, and is prepared to take on the champs.

“The most important thing is he’s (Ndidi) back training in the squad and he’s looked fine with the players,” Rodgers was quoted by the club’s official website

“Availability is the important thing and thankfully he’s available. Marc Albrighton was obviously back last weekend. We’re all fine.”

The news will also please Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, who will depend on Ndidi in the forthcoming international friendly against Portugal.

On November 17, a friendly matchup versus the former European champions will take place at Lisbon’s Estadio Jose Alvalade.
