BREAKING: Senate Begins Screening Of Olukoyede, Hammajoda

Ola Olukoyede and Muhammad Hammajoda have now appeared before the National Assembly for the crucial screening process to assume leadership roles within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Olukoyede is slated for the position of Chairman, while Hammajoda is set to take on the role of Secretary in this key anti-graft agency.

This appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took place on October 12, 2023, positioning Olukoyede and Hammajoda as Chairman and Secretary of the EFCC, respectively.

However, their formal assumption of these roles is contingent on the Senate’s screening and subsequent confirmation.

Presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, provided insight into the appointments via an official statement.

According to the statement, Olukoyede’s appointment is initially for a renewable term of four years, underscoring the intent to bolster the EFCC’s leadership.

Additionally, President Tinubu appointed Hammajoda as the Secretary of the EFCC, with his term also set for a renewable duration of five years, pending the essential Senate confirmation process.
