BREAKING: President Buhari arrives in Abuja after London medical trip

After over two weeks of stay in London, United Kingdom, President Muhammadu Buhari arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, on Thursday evening.

President Buhari had travelled to London on March 30 for a “routine medical check-up”, as indicated by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

Those at the airport to receive the president comprised the Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Malam Muhammed Bello, and the National Security Adviser to the President, Babagana Monguno.

Others include the service chiefs, acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, the Director-General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i, the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, and other presidential aides.

After a brief welcoming ceremony at the airport, the President boarded an official helicopter that took him to the Aso Rock.

Buhari’s “short rest” at the Abuja House in London has been tarnished with the #HarassBuhariOutOfLondon protest planned by Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

A counter-protest or a solidarity protest was quickly planned in support of the Nigerian President in what could be portrayed as ridiculous dramatisation.

Buhari has been condemned for his medical trips abroad, regardless of the vast amount allotted to the Aso Rock clinic yearly.
