Sunday Zaka, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has passed away.

The politician lost his life in a car accident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday, February 25, on the Guda-Arena road in Kuje town, Abuja.

According to a close aide of the deceased, Bawa Benjamin, who confirmed the incident, Mr. Zaka was returning home after attending a closed-doors meeting with party officials in Abuja when the accident happened. “He lost control of his Peugeot car and crashed into a tree,” said Bawa. Despite being rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada, he was confirmed dead by doctors.
