BREAKING: Lagos halts planned reopening of churches, mosques
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced the decision to stop the planned reopening of worship centers (mosques and churches ) on Friday, June 19 and Sunday, June 21.
The governor made this known at a press briefing on Tuesday.
According to him, the development is as a result of the rising cases of COVID-19 in the state.
On Monday, Nigeria recorded a total of 573 new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 16,658.
As has become normal, Lagos reported the highest figures with 216 new cases, bringing the total number of cases in the state 7,319.
