Governor Seyi Makinde joins June 12 Protesters in Ibadan topnaija.ng

Seyi Makinde, the Governor of Oyo state has arrived the venue of the viral June 12th democracy day protests ongoing all over the country.

 

Seyi Makinde shocked protesters when he drove himself to the venue with little security to encourage and join them

Clad in a brown attire, Makinde emerged amidst cheers and loud praises.

The protesters are protesting against bad governance, insecurity, and against the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

 

On March 9, 2019, Seyi Makinde polled 515, 621 votes defeating his closest rival, Mr Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressive Party who polled 357,982 votes. The All Progressives Congress (APC), during the General elections.

He was elected into the Office of the Governor of Oyo State at the 2019 Gubernatorial elections for Oyo State which held on March 9, 2019.

Makinde who was sworn in on 29 May 2019, as the 28th executive Governor of Oyo State, took over from Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi after the latter’s eight years in office.
