Body of missing 300 level Benue University student discovered

Erekaa Naomi Dooshima, a 300-level Mass Communication student at Benue State University, who was known as Affection, has been discovered dead after being reported missing for three days.

Despite numerous efforts to locate the Benue University student, her whereabouts remained unknown.

however, Ukan Kurugh, a Benue activist, announced on Facebook that a phone, ID card, and bloodstained clothes, believed to belong to the missing student, were found near Rahama Clinic opposite the Medical School in Makurdi on Tuesday, February 21.

In a recent update shared on February 22, Mr. Kurugh reported that Erekaa’s body has been located and is presently being exhumed by the Benue State Police Command. The circumstances surrounding her untimely death remain unclear at this time.

Meanwhile, Abdulrasheed Bawa, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has warned Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking on Channels Television’s election programme, The 2023 Verdict, Bawa revealed that the EFCC had intelligence indicating that some politicians plan to buy votes in kind and cash.

He also noted that public officials, corrupt businessmen, and governors were hoarding old and new naira notes to buy votes during the presidential election. The chairman urged citizens to report any evidence of vote buying, selling, or financial malpractices to the EFCC. Read MORE
