Blessing Okagbare finally reacts to the ten year ban handed to her by AUI

33-year-old Nigerian Sprinter, Blessing Okagbare has finally responded to the ten-year ban given to her by the Athletics Integrity Unit (AUI).

TopNaija recalls that Blessing Okagbare was expelled from the Tokyo Olympics last year, 2021 before the women’s 100m semi-finals after coming out positive for human growth hormone at an out-of-competition test in Slovakia on July 19.

On Friday, February 18, the AIU announced its decision to a 5-year ban for the presence of prohibited substances and it’s use, and another 5 years ban for her refusal to co-operate with the investigation.

The Nigeria’s 2008 long jump silver medalist recently took to her Instagram page, reacting to the decision of the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU).

According to her, her lawyers are recently studying it for their next line of action.

”My attention has been drawn to the statement issued by the AIU regarding its disciplinary panel decision. My lawyers are currently studying it for our next line of action which we will inform you soon” she wrote.
