Benue APC disowns Alia

The Benue State All Progressives Congress (APC) has categorically disowned Governor Hyacinth Alia’s recent announcement of Benjamin Omakolo as the chairman of the party in the state.

In a press statement released on Thursday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Daniel Ihomun, expressed the party’s determination to resist any attempts to undermine its leadership and Constitution by anti-democratic elements seeking to sow confusion within its ranks.

The party became aware of Governor Alia’s actions through social media platforms, where it was reported that the suspended state Welfare Secretary of the APC, Hon. Benjamin Omakolo, had been inaugurated as the acting Chairman of the party in the state.

However, Ihomun emphasized that the Governor’s decision holds no weight within the party and is therefore null and void.

In light of this development, the APC urges all its members at every level, as well as the people of Benue State, to completely disregard this news.

The party remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding its leadership structure and the principles enshrined in its Constitution.

According to him, “The National Secretariat of our great party has since restored the status of Comrade Austin Agada as member and state chairman of the APC in Benue State and all well meaning members of the party have returned to status quo.”
