Bello El-Rufai wins House of Reps seat in Kaduna

Bello El-Rufai, the son of the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has been declared the winner of the House of Representatives election for Kaduna North Federal Constituency held on Saturday, February 25.

He won with a total of 51,052 votes, defeating his closest rival, Samaila Suleiman of the PDP, who scored 34,808 votes.

The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Muhammed Magaji, announced the result, declaring Bello El-Rufai as the winner. Aliyu Ahmad of the NNPP scored 10,148 votes, while Shehu Feisal of the Labour Party got 7,531 votes.

Bello El-Rufai, who is the eldest son of the governor, was elated with his victory and expressed his gratitude to the people of Kaduna North for their support. He promised to represent them well in the House of Representatives and work tirelessly towards the development of the constituency.

In his words, “I want to thank the people of Kaduna North for coming out in large numbers to vote for me. I am truly humbled by the trust and confidence you have reposed in me. I promise to work hard and represent you well in the House of Representatives.”

Bello El-Rufai’s victory in the election has been met with mixed reactions from Nigerians. While some have congratulated him on his win, others have criticized the election process, citing alleged irregularities and voter intimidation.

The House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the National Assembly of Nigeria, with 360 members representing constituencies across the country.
