Beat Brentford, win the league — Michael Owen tells Arsenal
Former Liverpool icon turned Manchester United star, Michael Owen has a very interesting view concerning the premier league title race this season as it relates to North London side, Arsenal.
According to the former Real Madrid player, the Gunners currently sit at a privileged position in the league, at least ahead of the upcoming weekend as they only have one task to do as Liverpool and Manchester City face off at Anfield.
Michael Owen on his analysis of the highly talked about Premier League title race, believes Arsenal stand the most with the advantage following their recent streak of results in the league.
Mikel Arteta’s side have ran rout against their recent opponents since their 3-1 defeat of Liverpool at the Emirates, with the Gunners managing to humiliate Crystal Palace, West Ham, Newcastle United, and most recently, Sheffield United by a considerable number of goals.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Owen expressed his confidence in Arsenal’s potential, acknowledging the challenge posed by Liverpool and Manchester City but stressing that Arsenal are “a force to be reckoned with.”
“That is impressive that run of results, some good teams in there, they beat Liverpool convincingly, beat Newcastle convincingly, most of the games they are winning by two, three, four goals,” Michael Owen said.
According to the ex-England international, Arsenal only have to get 3-points this coming weekend to ensure the premier league title changes tide as either or both Liverpool and Manchester City could possibly drop points at Anfield.
“We just saw their fixtures, if they can get past Brentford at the weekend and then sit back and watch Liverpool against Manchester City, somebody is going to drop points, so they are going to be gaining on someone this weekend if they concentrate on their business.
“Exciting times for them and of course the big one on the horizon at the Etihad [against Man City], if they can avoid defeat there then they are in serious business.”
