Maria Benjamin, the ex-housemate of the Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) reality show, says she has tested positive for COVID-19.

The reality TV star, in a post via her Instagram page on Wednesday, also disclosed that she got to know about her COVID-19 diagnosis when she arrived in Ghana from Dubai.

“Unfortunately, I have tested positive to COVID-19 but I can assure you I’m doing really well,” she wrote.

“I initially had a negative result from Dubai less than 24 hours of coming into Ghana. Upon arrival in Ghana, I tested positive. Please do not take covid for granted and don’t try to be as stubborn as me.

“I’ve been placed in the best possible care and receiving treatment. I will be in Ghana until I am fully recovered.”

Maria was in the news recently over an alleged affair with Kelvin Anene, the husband to Maryanne Onyinyechi Obi, the sister of Cubana Chiefpriest, the Nigerian nightlife promoter.

A petition to which Kelvin was asked to respond alluded to certain allegations over which his wife sought a divorce.

In the caption of his post, Cubana Chief Priest wrote: “Divorce was just served barely a month ago. We no dey post receipt with ink cover slide to see the date.

“My sister gave up the marriage after finding out Kelvin sponsored the big brother movement.

“Also when she came to Dubai to see the husband who does not pick calls again, lo and behold maria opened the door for her, putting on the husband’s t-shirt.”
