Barcelona treated me like I didn’t matter—Dani Alves

Talk about a Barcelona legend, you can’t do so without mentioning Dani Alves.

Dani Alves played an active role in whatever Barcelona achieved in recent history and even came running the minute the club needed him, and he did so taking massive pay cuts.

But for the Brazilian, he feels cheated in that he hated how he was treated by the club on his return to the team and eventual exit.

In his words, the departing 39 year old defender remarks of the Catalan club side as committing a sin, something in which it has done for years, not just to him but other players.

He states that the club shows no concern for the players who have shown consistent dedication to the club and helped it to glory.

Speaking on himself, the legendary Barca figure expressed how he desired to have been treated differently even though he was happy to have at least returned to the club one more time.

“The only thing I didn’t like was how my farewell was handled,” he said in an interview with the Guardian.

Alves revealed that he had informed Barcelona that in his second coming and him no longer being a youngster, he would no longer tolerate any secrecy,

“I wanted things to be done straight, without hiding things.” he lamented.

“But this club has sinned in recent years. Barcelona doesn’t care about the people who made history at the club. As a Cule [Barcelona fan] I would like Barcelona to do things differently.”

It appears the Brazilian isn’t quite happy with how his exit have gone down at the club.
