Ayra Starr opens up on her upcoming album and dad's death

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr, also known as Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, has shared her journey of coming to terms with the loss of her father and her forthcoming album.

In a recent interview with Elle magazine, the artiste revealed that the outro of her forthcoming second album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ is a tribute to her late dad.

The song, titled ‘The Kids Are All Right,’ holds a special place in Ayra Starr’s heart. “I end the album with a song called ‘The Kids Are All Right,’ which is my niece singing about dad and finally coming to terms with the death of my dad,” she explained during the interview.

Ayra Starr’s sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ is set to be released this Friday. The album features collaborations with artists such as Asake, Seyi Vibez, Giveon, Anitta, Coco Jones, and Mil, promising a diverse and emotionally rich musical experience for her fans.
