ASUP gives FG 14 days ultimatum as it threatens to embark on an indefinite strike if demands are not met.

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) threatened to commence work action if the Federal Government refuse to meet its demands.

The polytechnic body has given a fourteen-day ultimatum following an emergency meeting by its National Executive Council.

The union demanded the disbursement of N15 billion revitalization funds approved by president Muhammad Buhari eleven months ago.

They urged the FG to address the non-release of the scheme of service for polytechnics, approved in 2017.

ASUP also demanded the immediate release of arrears of the new minimum wage owed to polytechnic staff.
