Arsenal vs. Brighton and Hove Albion: Preview/Confirmed Lineup

The title race never stops the minute the new premier league season begins and this weekend Arsenal faces a new foe in Brighton and Hove Albion who come visiting for 3-more points to their tally on the league table.

The Gunners are currently joint top on the premier league table, albeit 1-goal difference short of league leaders, Manchester City. The North London side have the privilege of reclaiming that point for themselves before Manchester City gets to face off in later hours of today against West Ham United. It is quite the irony though, considering Manchester City versus West Ham United was a fixture that could have very nearly won Arsenal the league title had the Hammers held on and pressured for an equalizer on final match day.

With this season, a different tale on its end, Arsenal will have to take a more ruthless stance if they hope to take the spot of Pep Guardiola’s side, and Brighton and Hove Albion is the challenge that stands on that path this weekend.

Premier League predictions for the Weekend

For the Seagulls however, Fabian Hürzeler has a different style of hustle with this Brighton side this season after 2 big wins versus Everton and Manchester United—2 teams no one traditionally will give Brighton and Hove Albion the chance to beat, which for Arsenal is something to be wary of.

The Seagulls, despite not having its full squad, are very much an improved side this season compared to what they were last season under Roberto De Zerbi, which by all accounts, wasn’t that bad to be honest.

Brighton facing off Arsenal in recent times, has become a boogey fixture particularly for the Gunners who not until last season, have been unable to nab back to back wins against.

With both sides significantly improved this season, it makes this game a lot more interesting for neutrals and fans alike, but that is dependent on what the respective lineup brings to the table.
