Arsenal reportedly prepares £76 million for Mbappe

Arsenal has reaped the rewards of a significant financial boost amounting to £76 million ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window amidst links to Kylian Mbappe, following their impressive qualification for the Champions League’s last-16 stage.

The Gunners secured their passage as group winners with a dazzling 6-0 victory over Lens, displaying an extraordinary first-half performance that cemented their dominant position in the tournament.

The lucrative influx of funds into Arsenal’s coffers is a result of their remarkable journey in the Champions League, as reported by Łukasz Bączek, an authoritative figure in sports business, whose Sportico ranking among the top 50 Sport Business accounts underscores the credibility of the financial information disclosed.

Breakdown of the £76 million windfall includes £13.5 million earned from ‘starting fees’, £21.5 million attributed to their ‘UEFA Coefficient 10-year Ranking’, £9.15 million from ‘Market pool 1’, £3.65 million from ‘Market pool 2’, an additional £8.28 million for qualifying for the Round of 16, and a £9.66 million bonus for securing four victories in the tournament.

The financial windfall has sparked speculation regarding Arsenal’s potential moves in the transfer market, notably amidst reports from Record (via Football365) indicating the club’s interest, alongside Premier League rivals Liverpool, in the pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

The Paris Saint-Germain forward is set to become a free agent at the conclusion of the season, having declined the opportunity to extend his contract until 2025.

While Mbappe’s likely destination has long been speculated to be Real Madrid after the expiry of his contract, both Arsenal and Liverpool have reportedly entered discussions exploring the financial and sporting dimensions required to lure the prolific forward to the Premier League.

However, according to the Record report, Mbappe has held admiration for Liverpool from a distance and leans more towards joining the ranks of the Anfield club than opting for a move to Arsenal.
