Arsenal fans shouldn’t be too happy about Jesus—Rio Ferdinand

Former Manchester United player and legend, Rio Ferdinand has warned the Arsenal fan base to not get ahead of themselves with the signing of new striker, Gabriel Jesus.

Proving to be quite the reign on the Gunners’ parade, Rio Ferdinand admits there are far better players than Gabriel Jesus like Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

This comes in response to the former defender’s claim that the Arsenal fans have a tendency to overhype its players even though facts prove otherwise.

There should be nothing taken away from the former Manchester City forward though, considering he has had quite the brilliant start to his Arsenal career since joining in a £45million deal from the Etihad earlier in the summer.

Jesus has netted twice in the Gunners’ 100% start to the Premier League season.

Speaking on a podcast, Ferdinand pointed out that the Gunners supporters have the tendency of ‘going overboard’ with the former United defender warning the fan base not to do the same with Jesus after his ‘unreal’ start at the club.

“I think that Jesus’s impact has been unreal,” Ferdinand said on FIVE.

“I think that he has been a fantastic signing, an absolute major signing for Arsenal, but please don’t go overboard like all Arsenal fans do.

“When you have got [Erling] Haaland banging in a hat-trick at the weekend and you are going, ‘Oh, Jesus is overshadowing him still’, what are you talking about?”
