We wanted to show who we are to Chelsea--Arteta

Talk about Arsenal taking last season’s top 4 loss seriously on the summer transfer window to become the top spenders so far in the market.

This happened on Friday after the club completed the signing of former Manchester City left-back, Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The £32 million move for the Ukrainian set the club as biggest spenders who so far have spent £121.5 million on new signings.

The report comes courtesy of Sky Sports who in their analysis monitored the transfer activities of the North London rivals in the window.

Tottenham Hotspur have spent €115 million so far, with Manchester City falling in 3rd place with a transfer spend of £101.1 million, with Leeds United also spending £95.4 million to fall in fourth on the spenders table, and Liverpool just behind with a £91.5 million and Chelsea 6th with a £81.5 million spend.

Should Chelsea’s move for Jules Kounde prove a success, Arsenal’s position could be toppled by their London rivals.

According to reports, the Stamford Bridge side are set to agree a £55 million deal for the Sevilla defender on a 5 year contract.

Although there are conflicting reports that Barcelona could be on the move to hijack the deal for the defender.

With Arsenal getting active in the window with its raid on Manchester City players, Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko, the coming 2022/23 campaign will be quite the interesting one.

But looking at Tottenham’s smart business this summer, the North London derby is definitely one to watch, and the title race could be much different for once in the Premier League.

It’s all speculations at this stage though as different factors could come into play as the season progresses.
