The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, reiterated the Nigerian Army’s steadfast commitment to eradicating insurgents, marauding bandits, and all other internal and external threats undermining the nation’s peace.
In his Easter message to troops and their families in Abuja, Lagbaja urged officers and soldiers to utilise the occasion for prayers, emphasizing the values of love, peace, and sacrifice in their duties.
Highlighting efforts in high-quality training and equipment provision, Lagbaja noted the army’s significant successes in operations such as Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East and internal security operations nationwide.
He assured continued prioritisation of the welfare of officers, soldiers, and their families, acknowledging their dedication in tackling security challenges. Lagbaja mourned the recent loss of colleagues in Delta while urging steadfastness in fulfilling constitutional duties.
Encouraging prayers against negative forces, Lagbaja expressed hope that the Easter and Lenten Season would instill greater zeal and dedication in personnel.
Commending President Bola Tinubu’s support, he reaffirmed loyalty to Nigeria’s constitution and the nation.
