Armed men attacks Adamawa Police headquarters on Wednesday

Unknown armed men have reportedly attacked the Adamawa State Police headquarters in the early hours of Wednesday, sending residents of Yola into panic.

The police headquarters is located at the heart of Jimeta community, in Yola North Local Government Area.

Confirming the event, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, had asserted that things are now under control.

According to the PRO, the police retaliated on the attack, unfortunately, the identities of those behind it was unknown.

According to one account, the attackers were military members on a vengeance mission following the purported execution of a military officer by police.

It could not be reliably verified if military troops were engaged.

However, the article described police as adding that investigations were ongoing to determine the motive of the attack and people responsible.
