Are We Alone in the Universe or Are there other Extraterrestrials?

It has been a question asked by virtually every science enthusiasts, ‘are we alone in the universe?’, ‘Is earth really the centre of the universe?’

These questions have provoked countless researches and findings, with the latest revealing that a Nasa telescope has identified two new planets through faint dips in starlight.

It is reported that the planets moved around their sun and astronomers consider both planets bigger than Earth.

The two new super earths are said to be a mere 33 light years away from Earth making it one of the closest to our own solar system.

The planets orbit a red dwarf star and are believed to be home to alien species.

“Both planets in this system are each considered among the best targets for atmospheric study because of the brightness of their star.” Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Michelle Kunimoto said.

“Is there a volatile-rich atmosphere around these planets? And are there signs of water or carbon-based species?

“These planets are fantastic test beds for those explorations. Every planet orbiting a star is going to have a little gravitational pull on its star.

“What we’re looking for is any slight movement of that star that could indicate a planetary-mass object is tugging on it.”

The two globes have been named HD 260655 b and HD 260655 c.

The news of potential life beyond the stars comes as according to expert reports alien civilizations were crumbling before they could reach Earth.

A recent paper from Dr. Michael Wong of the Carnegie Institution for Science and Dr Stuart Bartlett from California Institute of Technology claims that alien civilizations are dying out before they can contact Earth.

They allege that the alien life forms are growing and expanding rapidly and collapsing just as fast, preventing them from reaching out beyond the stars to get in contact.

These all brings to the question ‘are we alone in the universe’? Or are these all fiction? It remains to be seen.
