Apply! Money Trail Working Grants For Mixed Teams of African, Asian and European Journalists on Illicit Financial Flows (50.000 Euro)

Money Trail offers working grants for mixed teams of African, Asian and European journalists to investigate cross-border illicit financial flows, tax abuse and corruption in Africa, Asia, and Europe. Grants are awarded to journalists solely by, with no input or oversight at any stage from the consortium as a whole.
All applications will be screened by a separate, independent, anonymous jury of four people with ample experience in investigative journalism in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The jury members are chosen by Journalismfund.eu and suggested by Oxfam Novib, Free Press Unlimited, Finance Uncovered and the advisory board of Journalismfund.eu. Their names will be made public after all grants have been awarded.
The total amount per call is around 50.000 euro.
Only intercontinental journalist teams consisting of at least one African, one Asian and/or one European journalist are eligible to apply. Each team must consist of journalists from at least two continents.
In order to be eligible for application, the teams have to ensure that their story will be published in at least two continents. Therefore, during the application procedure, they will be asked to upload letters of intent for publication from media organizations in at least two continents.
The focus should be on illicit financial flows.
Budget:
Journalismfund.eu supports costs related to journalistic research for all media. This can include travel, translation, access to pay-databases or simply time to research. We do not support fixed costs such as office costs, investments such as cameras or computers or production costs.

This is a perfect opportunity for interested journalists to pitch their story idea and discuss it with Lisa, who can see whether it is eligible for a grant and is able to offer tips and advice as well as suggest possible colleagues.
