Apply! KAIST Undergraduate Scholarships

The Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) offers the KAIST International Student Scholarship for both undergraduate and postgraduate international students (see the KAIST PostGraduate Scholarships here).

KAIST Undergraduate Scholarships are very competitive and once a student is selected by KAIST, his/her tuition fee is waived off and he/she will get scholarship based on KAIST policies.

KAIST welcomes applications from all over the world. Eligible international undergraduate applicants wishing to study at KAIST are invited to apply for the KAIST International Student Scholarship as they apply for their course. You can choose to apply either for SPRING semester or Fall semester.

Eligibility
FOR SCHOLARSHIP
All applicants must be of International Student Admission. Applicants with a financial need are able to apply for the scholarship.
FOR UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION
-If you graduated or will be graduating high school, you can apply for any of KAIST’s undergraduate (bachelor’s degree) program. International candidates must meet all of the following requirements:
Spring Semester, 2018: He or she has graduated or will graduate from his or her secondary education by February 28th, 2018.
-Fall Semester, 2018: He or she has graduated or will graduate from his or her secondary education by August 31st, 2018.
-He or she is not a citizen of Korea.
Note: Korean citizens who hold dual citizenship are not eligible to apply as foreign students.
International applicants whose parents were born in Korea MUST additionally satisfy one of the following two requirements:
-Neither of the candidate’s parents is a Korean citizen or;
-The candidate must have received his/her entire elementary, junior high, and high school education outside of Korea at a comparable and equivalent level of those provided in Korea. But in this case, international schools located in Korea are not acknowledged as foreign schools.

Field
Undergraduate level studies in all courses available at KAIST (including Science, Technology, Engineering, Humanities, Social Science, Business. etc)
All undergraduate students enter without declaring a major and after one year of studying basics of science they are free to choose any major they are interested in. And there is no restriction in changing major. KAIST values the process of student finding their interest and talent for the best future career.

The Subsidies covered by the scholarship include:
-Full tuition fee: tuition exemption for 8 semesters
-Living expenses: 200,000 ~ 350,000 KRW per month
-Medical insurance
