Apply! Gulf Smartphone Short Film Competition

If you’ve got a big idea, all you need to do is create a short film under three minutes and submit your entry to British Council’s team.
Small Screen, Big Film is an online filmmaking competition, operated by the British Council, open to young and emerging filmmakers.

Value
-Development of your creative skills
-A chance to have your movie seen by thousands of people around the world
-Winners will receive professional coaching on a one-to-one basis from a UK film industry expert who will fly to the Gulf to deliver the training session
-Winners films will be promoted on the British Council’s MENA YouTube and via paid Facebook advertising for thousands of audiences in the Gulf and the UK

Eligibility
-Age groups 14-25
-No longer than 3 minutes (180 seconds)
-Fiction
-Must be filmed or created on a smartphone or tablet
-Live action or stop motion animation
-In Arabic or English
-Must not contain material that infringes the copyright of others (Music, video/audio sound clips, based on existing copyrighted material such as books or graphic novels for example) and all performers must have given their permission to be in the film
-Suitable to be seen by under 18s
-Approved by everyone featured in the film
-Open for who are resident or nationals in/of the Gulf, or, from the Gulf nationals living in the UK Gulf diaspora and resident in the UK
