The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars program is open for applications to provide funding, skills training, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate with outstanding colleagues from diverse disciplines to position scholars as leaders and agents of change within academia and beyond. This program is generously supported by the Azrieli Foundation and the Love Family Leadership Development Fund.

CIFAR invites exceptional early career researchers to join CIFAR’s global network of 370 researchers from 18 countries who together are pursuing answers to some of the most complex challenges facing the world today.

Programs under Scholarship
Applicants can apply for the following programs under this scholarship
-Azrieli Program in Brain, Mind & Consciousness: Where does human consciousness come from, and why is it important?
-Bio-Inspired Solar Energy: How can we learn from nature to harvest energy from the sun?
-Gravity & the Extreme Universe: What is the nature of extreme gravity, and how can it help us understand the origin and evolution of the universe?
-Humans & the Microbiome: How do microbes that live in and on us affect our health, development and even behaviour?
-Molecular Architecture of Life: How does life originate and what are the processes that make life possible?

Benefits
CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars receive:
-$100,000 CDN in unrestricted research support
-A two-year membership to a CIFAR research program, with outstanding research leaders from across disciplines.

Eligibility
Applicants can be from anywhere in the world, must hold a PhD (or equivalent) and be within the first five years of a full-time academic appointment. Please note that postdoctoral fellows are not eligible to apply to the program. Scholars’ research interests must be aligned with the themes of an eligible CIFAR research program.
