Apple integrates ChatGPT to Siri, system Apps

Apple is set to integrate ChatGPT, OpenAI’s AI-powered chatbot, into Siri and other first-party apps across its operating systems. This announcement was made during a keynote at WWDC 2024 in Cupertino on Monday, marking a significant step in the Apple ChatGPT integration.

“We’re excited to partner with Apple to bring ChatGPT to their users in a new way,” stated OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. “Apple shares our commitment to safety and innovation, and this partnership aligns with OpenAI’s mission to make advanced AI accessible to everyone.”

With this Apple ChatGPT integration, Siri will be able to use ChatGPT for various tasks. For instance, users can ask Siri for menu ideas using ingredients from their garden, and Siri will consult ChatGPT for an answer after obtaining user permission.

Users will also be able to include photos with their questions to ChatGPT via Siri or ask questions related to their documents or PDFs. Furthermore, Apple has incorporated ChatGPT into system-wide writing tools, enabling users to create content with Chat
