The ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC) has reacted to reports that the Labour Party (LP) pegged its governorship form for Imo state at N25 million.

Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa will have their governorship elections on November 11, 2023, as the tenure of the incumbent Governor of Imo State ends on January 14, 2024, while those of Kogi and Bayelsa States end on January 26, 2024, and February 13, 2024, respectively.

A few days ago, the alleged N25 million for governorship form generated discussions online with some people claiming that LP is becoming part of the corrupt system like other political parties.

Reacting to the news via Twitter, Spokesman of the All Progressives Congres (APC) presidential campaign council, Festus Keyamo said Nigeria dodged a bullet on February 25, stating that LP didn’t take long before the pretensions of the so-called ‘new breeds’ began to unravel.

He wrote: “I understand that the Labour Party’s Governorship forms for IMO State costs N25 million, same as that of the PDP in the last election. It didn’t even take long before the pretensions of the so-called ‘new breeds’ have begun to unravel. Nigerians dodged a bullet on February 25th”.
