These are the moments of the season when Italian Sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano is most famous for; the gist and reports on transfer moves and rumors regarding contract extensions by players, agent fees and contract clauses in signed deals by footballers.

And again, the Sports Journalist comes to break Blue hearts as he confirms the inevitable exit of Chelsea brick-wall, Antonio Rudiger from Chelsea to Spanish league giants, Real Madrid.

The journalist reported the news late last night to all but confirm an open secret that has been out in the bag for months now, revealing the deal to Madrid has been completed as Real Madrid sources confirm.

The contract is said to run for a duration of 4 seasons, with it expiring in 2026 with no option for a further season.

It is revealed that Antonio had made the decision to move to Real Madrid in April after talks of a contract extension had stalled at Chelsea due to the Roman Abramovich sanction by the UK Government.

Rudiger according to Romano’s sources is a key factor for Real Madrid boss, Carlo Ancelotti’s plan as the Italian wanted the Chelsea defender as a priority signing in his project.

Although Real Madrid will not confirm the report until end of the season as a respect to Chelsea.

Rudiger will be remembered by Chelsea fan for his tough attitude in defence and a main drive in their road to Champions League victory in the 2020/21 season and for engineering a comeback to his Chelsea career under German coach, Thomas Tuchel after almost being sold by former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard.

The Premier League will definitely not forget the defender anytime soon, but right now, he looks set for another challenge, after seeing Chelsea to atleast a top 4 finish.
