Famed Liverpool correspondent for The Athletic, James Pearce has revealed the recent rumors linking Liverpool with former Everton player, Anthony Gordon are very far from authentic.
In a detailed report on why the Reds have been so quiet on the transfer end despite Liverpool’s mixed conclusion to the 2023/24 campaign, James Pearce reveals the links between Newcastle United and Liverpool in regards Anthony Gordon were exaggerated.

According to Pearce, though the former Liverpool academy star is genuinely admired, the reports were rather hasty to suggest the Reds actually made a move for him as suggested. The journalist stresses that it is Newcastle that are desperate to raise funds with the Merseyside club receiving a proposal to buy him, which was quickly dismissed.
The 19-times premier league Champions believe that the valuation of the player by Newcastle United is excessive and the proposal to include Anthony Gordon in a swap deal with promising Liverpool academy graduate, Jarell Quansah is out of the table.
