Anthony Elanga assisted Brentford in a Counter Attack against His team
Anthony Elanga was very close to helping Brentford score more goals in their match over the weekend as a trending footage from the disastrous match reveals.
New season, same Manchester United it would seem as every game the team is involved in always has one or two players committing errors that help its opponent against their own team.
A recent footage has revealed a blatant error in the game that wasn’t from the heavily criticized David de Gea but this time from academy graduate, Anthony Elanga.
The teenage prospect was seen warming up on the sideline whilst Brentford were approaching a counter attack.
Bryan Mbeumo then attempted a quick pass to a teammate which was then blocked by Raphael Varane with the ball instantly going out of play.
At that moment, Elanga was seen picking the ball up quickly and throwing it back to the Brentford player, Mbeumo knowing full well his Man United teammates were out of position.
The Brentford player saw the immediate opportunity to take the quick throw in to his teammate, Rico Henry to continue the attack against Man United.
The throw met Henry who by then had gotten into a dangerous position that could have proved disastrous for Man United, but fortunately for the Red Devils, the chance came at nothing.
Manchester United fans reacted negatively to the footage and to Elanga, with some wondering why the post-match analysis of the day didn’t capture it.
Anthony Elanga made his debut under Manchester United former manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at the back end of the 2021 season to become a regularly in the 2021/22 season under Ralf Ragnick after Mason Greenwood was kicked off the team.
The player came under the criticism last season when he fouled his own teammate during an attack by Manchester United’s opponent in a horror show that raised eye brows for the United supporters.
