Don't provoke rival fans -- Pepe Reina to Vinicius Junior

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has firmly dismissed any speculation surrounding the departure of winger Vinicius Junior from the club.

Ancelotti’s comments come after the Brazilian player was subjected to racial abuse during Real Madrid’s recent La Liga match against Valencia, where he endured monkey gestures and noises from a section of the home fans.

Addressing the media ahead of Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga fixture against Rayo Vallecano, Ancelotti expressed his belief that Vinicius would not be seeking an exit from the club.

The Italian manager highlighted that the 22-year-old attacker has received support from his fellow Brazilian national team members, as well as from other players and footballing legends.

“Vinicius loves football and Vinicius loves Real Madrid. I think that he is not really planning to leave, that is not what he is thinking here,” Ancelotti stated during the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

The Real Madrid boss emphasized that despite the distress caused by the racial abuse incident, Vinicius remains calm and resolute in his desire to stay at the club.

Ancelotti added, “As I said, Vinicius loves Real Madrid, he loves living in this country and he wants his future to be related to this club. Obviously, these things upset you, but his main idea is not to leave Real Madrid and the country.”

While acknowledging that Vinicius may express certain feelings regarding the situation, Ancelotti underlined that the player’s ultimate goal is to continue representing Real Madrid on the field.

The racial abuse directed at Vinicius during the Valencia match sparked widespread condemnation from various quarters of the footballing world. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the persistent issue of racism in football and the urgent need for action to eradicate such behavior from the sport.

As Real Madrid prepares for their upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano, Vinicius can take solace in the support he has received from teammates, both at the international level and within the club. The talented winger remains determined to contribute to Real Madrid’s success and is committed to his future with the Spanish giants.

The club, its supporters, and the wider football community will be hoping that the authorities take appropriate action to address the issue of racism and ensure that players like Vinicius can play the game they love without being subjected to such abhorrent treatment.
