The Federal Road Safety Corps has ordered its operatives to enforce vehicular movement restriction during the Anambra governorship poll.

This directive was contained in a statement by Bisi Kazeem, the Corps Public Education Officer, on Tuesday.

The statement is titled, ‘Anambra gubernatorial election: Collaborate with police, other security agencies to enforce the restriction of vehicular movement -Oyeyemi orders operatives’.

The statement read, “As part of preparations towards ensuring smooth conduct of the forthcoming Anambra governorship elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, November 6, 2021, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has ordered operatives of the Corps deployed to cover the election to ensure effective collaboration with the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies in the enforcement of restrictions on vehicular movement.

“The Corps Operatives deployed to cover the election have equally been mandated to clear obstructions from the roads, carry out rescue operations in case of emergencies, and maintain orderliness in polling booths.

“To ensure that the Corps plays an effective role in the elections, the Corps Marshal has directed the deployment of an adequate number of personnel of the Corps and Vehicles including tow trucks, ambulances to strengthen enforcement of restrictions during the entire process of the election.”
