Alibaba Gifts Cars To Winners Of The Alibaba Spontaneity Contest | Photos

Veteran Nigerian comedian, Abibaba, over the weekend presented 2 brand new cars to the winner and 1st runner up of the Alibaba’s Spontaneity competition which held on January 1st, 2019 at the Eko Conventional Centre, making it the first time in the four years history of the competition that both winner and 1st runnerup will go home with car prizes.

The Alibaba’s Spontaneity competition was too close to call for the eventual winner, MC Ukodo and 1st runnerup Ovy Godwin, so much that the audience and judges were split in who was the clear winner as the with the audience screamed ‘yes’ to both finalist after the judges had already made a decision.

Mrs Mary Akpobome, the chairperson of Alibaba January 1st committee, had to go on the stage to announce for the first time in the history of the contest, that the competition will be having a winner, but will also gift another car to compensate the second position.

At the presentation ceremony, all past winners of the competition, (except the immediate past winner, Ovie) were present as the new spontaneity winners got their cars. They spoke on how the spontaneity platform has helped their blooming careers while encouraging newcomers to take advantage of the contest.

Alibaba’s spontaneity which is the creation of the Godfather of Nigerian comedy started 4 years ago with the aim of encouraging upcoming comedians and also make them understand that the value potentials of the comedy industry, and to give them a boost in their professional stand up career.

In expanding the competition, Alibaba announced from next edition, the competition will no longer be narrowed to upcoming comedians but to everybody who will be willing to throw their hat in the ring.
